Depression often feels like an invader who comes and sucks all of the joy and zest out of life. Sometimes, however, depression shows up not as sadness but as irritation and anger. Depression is really about feeling like who we are is or never will be enough. It leaves us unsure of our footing in life and in our relationships. We feel lost, alone, and sometimes mad at the world; either fighting against ourselves and who we are or fighting everyone else to feel like we can belong.
To combat feelings of depression you need to start to see and believe in your worth and value again. Sometimes that means looking at when you started to believe you did not have that worth and value and healing the past. Sometimes that is having someone you can trust in your life to start to see your worth and value when you can't see it yourself yet.
